All about ME- Time

Hola good humans,
Today's blog is not the part of my series but just an underrated theme I wanted to pen down from a really long time. A very personal yet an universal issue.

'I want to just be!'
'Can I simply just breathe!? '
'Please let me be on my own for a while.'

Each and everyone would agree that they have uttered or felt these words many times in their lives. For some people, it is on frequent basis, while for others, it is occasional.
Time and again, I have heard this notion that people are becoming more and more intolerant with time. Is it so? Maybe yes, but not because they are developed that way. This impatience stems out from the negligence on our part.
We fail to recognize the need for 'me time'. It is highly underrated need of a human being.

Just like we create a comfortable space for people to share their thoughts, in the same way, our heart also needs that time and space to express what is it that we need. To channelize our deeper desires to reality, we need me time.

What is Me time?

For me,
Me time is the quality time that you spend with yourself, in silence, devoid of any external disturbances.

It is sad but I have known and heard people getting negative reactions when they have their 'me time'. While some call them selfish, others just find this need too lofty in nature. Let's clear out this notion that having me time or asking for it does not make you selfish.
Next time, anyone gives you different labels, ask them this question.

It is MY life, so why should I feel guilty to make time for myself?

Me time : a hype or the truth?

For the ones, who feel me time is just a fad like any other, let me tell you, no it is not. It is crucial for all of us. All we can do together is learn but to actually instil anything in ourselves we need some me time.
If we get exhausted too soon or just get frustrated real quick then it is a signal. A signal that somewhere there is a mental block to be taken care of. The very first way to get over it is by thinking it through. Deep seated issues require deep thinking to come to surface and it can only be attained by having me time. When done right, our indecisiveness and foggy thoughts fade away. It brings clarity and improved ability to handle pressure in life.

Communication is the key, and me time is the best way to communicate with ourselves. We need to know ourselves. As it is told, finding faults in others is easy, looking at our own faults require the real courage. I believe that silence is never dead, it has its own language. It is this language that translates our most profound desires into an understandable form. Me time gifts us with this chattering and revealing silence.

When we spend some time in our own company, we tend to understand and resonate with everything within us. And the one who understand himself finds it easier to understand others. We develop empathy as a value that makes us a socially better human being. I really believe that we certainly need more empaths in a highly judgmental world like ours.

When our issues don't find an outlet, they eat us up from within. We get triggered and irritated by most usual incidents. We just become 'too hard to be with' kind of a person. Little do they know, they we have some unresolved matters in our mind that keeps us vigilant from any more external verbal or emotional threats. To get through these, me time is the perfect cure.
However, when we are having me time, it is crucial to keep a check on ruminations that brood in our minds. We want to grow through it and not sink deeper into our insecurities.

While some of us are unable to get me time, others tend to dislike it. They dislike being on their own as they feel weak to face the real issues that bother them. While this may seem a smart move, it is indeed a wrong one. We must be comfortable enough to let our mess come to light, for only then can those be treated. Let us not shy away from ourselves.

Make space for your own space.
Me time is healthy.
Me time is a necessity and you must own it with pride.
Regular escape from external world is exquisite to dive deeper into the world within.

If not anything else, me time gets our creative juices flowing. So if you are an artist, visualizer or even a dreamer, me time can bring you the best muse you seek.

Keep living!
Stay in touch, with yourself!

P.S. Just another piece of exploring myself and my writing capabilities, feel free to put down your critics on this attempt. If you like this, then I would delve deeper into such thematic blogs, once every month.

Happy reading!

But in today's life we r so bounded to our duties that may b professional, social or may b personal tat no time is left to b "Me Time".It's very well illustrated by you regarding how advantageous it is to have it but at same time it is also next to impossible to have it in real life.A few may get luck with it.

    1. I agree that it's not easy, but I surely do not believe that it's impossible to have 'me-time'. The time you take to travel to office or the time you take for shower, can be a me time patch in your every day routine.
Sometimes it is about how much you want something, if you want it with all your heart, you will put all your mind & soul to have it!

Good luck for you to find some valuable me time!
