SEEKING LISTENERS

Somedays back, one of my friends created an account on a dating app. She loved her single life, she was never the one looking for her so called perfect love.
This move made by her was really astonishing for me.
On being asked she said " I don't really need a relationship but I just want to interact and find new people, you know it is so interesting to get to know new people. "
I stayed in touch with her to know her moves on the app.
Yes obviously she did find some desperate people (she rejected them as she was looking for something worthy) out there but to my surprise, she really did find some amazing and unique personalities. It's such a blissful feeling isn't it that you find some people who are appealing not just by how they look but the way they think?

Well, this move by my friend made me think that no matter what we say, but human beings do crave for interaction.
One may be an introvert or had faced a trauma in life, but still the person wants to be heard.
All of us are seeking listeners,
The ones who listen to our crazy yet vivid imagination,
The ones who listen to our insecurities, fears, joys, memories and everything we feel like uttering.
And not everytime this person has to be the love of our life.
The point that we humans have a language to share our ruminations to others, is a priceless gift from God
Isolation is just a temporary requirement,
Interaction is what keeps us going.
We all are created of words we say out loud and the ones we do not.
So next time if someone is trying to share with you their words, give them some of your precious time.
Maybe if you hear them out, they won't need a professional or medical help later because the words that stay unsaid, the feelings that bottle up within give way to the deepest illness.

Listen because they find you worthy enough.
Listen because they confide in you.
Listen because only then can you help them.
Listen because sometimes that is the first step in someone's process of healing.

A big kudos to all the patient listeners out there, you make the world better in your own way!!!

  1. I totally agree. We all need to vent out coz the words we keep inside are the words we want to hide. But as we realize life is more fun when shared with beautiful souls we will never want to hold it up.

    1. Yes true that! We need to be welcoming enough so that people don't want to hold words up to themselves.
Thank you so much for relating to it!
