Life happens for you or to you?

Oh! Hello beautiful readers, We are just 3 months away from new year or I should say, 3 months to go for 2020 to officially end. Am I the only one who feels that 2021 should come soon?! Well never mind, whichever year it may be, I will be here with my words for you all. It has been a long time since one of my closest friends suggested me to cover a theme. I came across this quote by Tony Robbins, This quote has time and again given the boost to lead our lives and make all our dreams a reality. However, this resonated with what my friend suggested. When I read this quote, more than anything, I focused on the word ' ME ' in it. There are times when we feel powerless, like nothing turns out as we plan and that's when we stick to this thought that we are the victim of the things that happen in our life. There are many aspects that could spring this thought in our mind, but here let's focus on one of it. How often do we fall in the trap of others' expectations? There are...

The Art of Letting Go

Image
Greetings readers, Well, before I begin, let me ask you a question, are you a keeper or a spender? Do you like to store and preserve your belongings or you quickly get on to newer things in life? I don't really know how you would answer these questions but for me these are surely not the close ended questions.  I feel that no one can truly choose one of the two as both are extreme ends. While we might be good to let go in some aspects, we might be adamant in letting go on other aspects. Little do we know that our choices clearly define our personality. The people who keep the rose petals in the diary to the people who frequently change their residence, all these choices and actions gives valuable insights into their lives. While this may seem situational but if we dig deeper, the ones who keep everything with them & try to protect even lifeless things at all possible costs are usually the people who fear letting go and if not, at least it doesn't come easy to them. Every ti...

Quotes and Anecdotes - 5

Hello people, How is this Sunday evening? A bit rainy, chilly and cozy maybe? So, might as well sit back and have a cup of tea or coffee while reading this short and sweet blog. Here begins the part 5 of #quote_anecdote series Time and again, we have heard that knowing and understanding are two different concepts all together. Every time that we know something does not necessarily mean we have an understanding about it. Understanding is such a key term in all walks of our lives. If we miss it, we lose everywhere.  Fail to understand the people at work, there is chaos.                                                                            Fail to understand people in relationships, there are misunderstandings and fail to understand ourselves, there is no profound meaning in life.   ...

Quotes and Anecdotes - 2

Hello readers, Be ready to have a look at a very cliche bond of friendship, but well obviously, with a twist. There are unending stories of how friendship is tested when we are in bad times but it is also the other way around. Didn't get it? So, here is the second flower in our #quote_anecdote garland Being born and brought up in a closely bonded family setup, I have seen way too many friendships in here. Some selfish, some selfless, some motivating, some way too distracting and some too precious to ever let go.  After watching few evolving and few stagnant ones, I made it a point to have a lot of friends but also, have some precious and ever lasting ones. While I focused on staying in touch with everyone, I went an extra mile for some (though sometimes terribly failed to be there for some of them.)  One of  the many advises I always heard was - it is during the hardships that you get to know your real friends - but I don't totally buy this advice. Why? Because as this ...

Quotes and Anecdotes - 1

We all have been a part of school assemblies which began with something called 'Thought for the day'. These thoughts were usually some deep or meaningful quotes that had some real wisdom to offer. Being a kid apart from the real world, it was hard for us to actually understand those quotes on a deeper level. But now as we get a feel of real life, we often fall back on words we have heard growing up all these years. It is true what people say that some advises only make sense at the right time. I also believe that our growth cannot be rushed. Our understandings develop over time and that's alright.  So, for a change I decided that why not share one life quote with one of my personal life anecdote which made me resonate more with the quote and made me a better person.   Here is the first one in the #quote_anecdote series Being the youngest kid in the entire family, I have grown up as a highly pampered child. My demands got fulfilled even before expressing them. Bu...
