Revival of Redrosewrites!

Image
To be honest, I never thought I was getting back to this ever, but I miss being an old fashioned blogger who writes about whatever strikes to her at any point of time.  Last year just went by like a gust of wind, too strong and all at once. I would not say it was miserable but it was well, just me trying to adjust with not-so-appealing affair called Adulting (still failing at it, but now I know to laugh it off!). The biggest change that you might notice is the edge of overdramatic expression in my writing.  All my old blogs read like coming from a mature and composed person; but this struggling at adulting Redrose version has learnt new hacks. All this time I thought problems and real-life crisis make people serious but along this topsy turvy ride, I have learned to take a chill pill and take life as it comes (I might get some smirks from my friends as they see me panicking every next hour ;))  Over the course of one year, the biggest learning I have got is that as you g...

Lockdown story of Me to New me!

Image
My lockdown story Hello readers, I think we have moved way past the point where I can ask for apologies for not being regular with my blogs. But all have plans and so I had some too. I actually wanted to pen down a new blog only after a new beginning but I just could not miss today's date without sharing the overload of emotions I am feeling today. March 14, 2020 So before you wonder what is so special today. Actually, this day, March 14, last year, I left behind the city of dreams - Mumbai with a never ending hope to get back to it for my graduation. But alas! We all know life had something else in store for us. Not that I am filled with anger and regret for it but attachments, that's the thing with me. Something that tear me down when given a lot of thought into it. For more than 2 years, I had been living in Mumbai. I created so many bonds with people, with places, oh! And obviously, the dogs and cats that I came across. So, parting away with that without really realizing it...

All about life, goals and satisfaction!

Image
Greetings dear readers, Let's begin with some basic questions today - What is our ultimate goal in life?  What is it that we truly seek out of it? What makes our life complete? I bet everyone has varied answers to these but I believe on non material level, all we want is to derive satisfaction out of  the work we engage in, throughout our life. A manner in which we could admit that we lived the life we wanted and we passionately created it for ourselves. How can we really get this satisfaction? In my view, to get to this point,  All we can try is not to let anyone else face the challenges that we did. We all face hardships in our life. There are obstacles that deviate or just stop us from getting to our needs.Once these moments are crossed, we must look back at it to question ourselves -  What were our hopes?  What kind of help were we seeking in that situation?  What were we lacking in that situation?  These questions might sound superficial but when...

Life happens for you or to you?

Image
Oh! Hello beautiful readers, We are just 3 months away from new year or I should say, 3 months to go for 2020 to officially end. Am I the only one who feels that 2021 should come soon?! Well never mind, whichever year it may be, I will be here with my words for you all. It has been a long time since one of my closest friends suggested me to cover a theme. I came across this quote by Tony Robbins, This quote has time and again given the boost to lead our lives and make all our dreams a reality. However, this resonated with what my friend suggested. When I read this quote, more than anything, I focused on the word ' ME ' in it. There are times when we feel powerless, like nothing turns out as we plan and that's when we stick to this thought that we are the victim of the things that happen in our life. There are many aspects that could spring this thought in our mind, but here let's focus on one of it. How often do we fall in the trap of others' expectations? There are...

The Art of Letting Go

Image
Greetings readers, Well, before I begin, let me ask you a question, are you a keeper or a spender? Do you like to store and preserve your belongings or you quickly get on to newer things in life? I don't really know how you would answer these questions but for me these are surely not the close ended questions.  I feel that no one can truly choose one of the two as both are extreme ends. While we might be good to let go in some aspects, we might be adamant in letting go on other aspects. Little do we know that our choices clearly define our personality. The people who keep the rose petals in the diary to the people who frequently change their residence, all these choices and actions gives valuable insights into their lives. While this may seem situational but if we dig deeper, the ones who keep everything with them & try to protect even lifeless things at all possible costs are usually the people who fear letting go and if not, at least it doesn't come easy to them. Every ti...

All about ME- Time

Image
Hola good humans, Today's blog is not the part of my series but just an underrated theme I wanted to pen down from a really long time. A very personal yet an universal issue. 'I want to just be!' 'Can I simply just breathe!? ' 'Please let me be on my own for a while.' Each and everyone would agree that they have uttered or felt these words many times in their lives. For some people, it is on frequent basis, while for others, it is occasional.  Time and again, I have heard this notion that people are becoming more and more intolerant with time. Is it so? Maybe yes, but not because they are developed that way. This impatience stems out from the negligence on our part.  We fail to recognize the need for 'me time'. It is highly underrated need of a human being. Just like we create a comfortable space for people to share their thoughts, in the same way, our heart also needs that time and space to express what is it that we need. To channelize our deeper d...

Quotes and Anecdotes - 5

Image
Hello people, How is this Sunday evening? A bit rainy, chilly and cozy maybe? So, might as well sit back and have a cup of tea or coffee while reading this short and sweet blog. Here begins the part 5 of #quote_anecdote series Time and again, we have heard that knowing and understanding are two different concepts all together. Every time that we know something does not necessarily mean we have an understanding about it. Understanding is such a key term in all walks of our lives. If we miss it, we lose everywhere.  Fail to understand the people at work, there is chaos.                                                                            Fail to understand people in relationships, there are misunderstandings and fail to understand ourselves, there is no profound meaning in life.   ...

Hola my readers, How often do we go down the memory lane and catch ourselves smiling on the way? There is something bitter sweet about recalling our best as well as worst moments in life, isn't it? Memories in itself are anecdotes. We borrow pieces from our memories to invoke the same feelings in our present. Memories are just so powerful, can make you teary eye in one moment or just at once, make you jump in joy. #quote_anecdote part 4 When we view memories, I am sure most of  us will agree that its neither always painful nor always  blissful. What really makes memories special?  For me, every memory is a series of life that we lived thoroughly, we were right there in those moments. We felt alive, we felt infinite. Just in those few seconds we didn't bother about anything in the world. We were totally ourselves.  The way we cried our heart out while missing someone or the way our face lit up at the sight of a big chocolate, in those moments we knew only that and we ...

Hello readers, We all know a strong foundation is very vital for any infrastructure. In the same way, our lives become better when we have a strong base. A foundation of values and profound life lessons. Being an Indian, I am so used to listening great stories and tales from our past which are fascinating. Oh! Also filled with many life teachings. Let's talk more about it in this blog. Here is the third one in the #quote_anecdote series, History repeats itself Time and again, we have heard this quote more often than we expected. Genuinely, I don't get the point of it at all, the fact that if history repeats itself and we already know it, then how come we don't stop it from happening ? Why do we need to have a deja Vu ?  Warren Buffet answered these questions by saying What we learn from history is that people don't learn from history. Almost sounds like a savage comeback, but is so right, isn't it? There have been uncountable moments where we read our history textbo...

Hello readers, Be ready to have a look at a very cliche bond of friendship, but well obviously, with a twist. There are unending stories of how friendship is tested when we are in bad times but it is also the other way around. Didn't get it? So, here is the second flower in our #quote_anecdote garland Being born and brought up in a closely bonded family setup, I have seen way too many friendships in here. Some selfish, some selfless, some motivating, some way too distracting and some too precious to ever let go.  After watching few evolving and few stagnant ones, I made it a point to have a lot of friends but also, have some precious and ever lasting ones. While I focused on staying in touch with everyone, I went an extra mile for some (though sometimes terribly failed to be there for some of them.)  One of  the many advises I always heard was - it is during the hardships that you get to know your real friends - but I don't totally buy this advice. Why? Because as this ...

Quotes and Anecdotes - 1

We all have been a part of school assemblies which began with something called 'Thought for the day'. These thoughts were usually some deep or meaningful quotes that had some real wisdom to offer. Being a kid apart from the real world, it was hard for us to actually understand those quotes on a deeper level. But now as we get a feel of real life, we often fall back on words we have heard growing up all these years. It is true what people say that some advises only make sense at the right time. I also believe that our growth cannot be rushed. Our understandings develop over time and that's alright.  So, for a change I decided that why not share one life quote with one of my personal life anecdote which made me resonate more with the quote and made me a better person.   Here is the first one in the #quote_anecdote series Being the youngest kid in the entire family, I have grown up as a highly pampered child. My demands got fulfilled even before expressing them. Bu...

Our Dream worlds!

Image
Hola Amigos, Don't you think?  Before this COVID 19 virus entered our lives, we were all living in the material world we created for ourselves. But as we are forced to stay indoors, we all have moved way past our materially luxurious lives. A life that went by the hands of clock has now come to a halt. At once, everything seems futile and a thing of the past. Now that the real world in which we reside in has turned too hard hitting; we all have shifted to our dream worlds again. The universe which is like a willful escape from our present times. A world of Art and Fiction , where stories are weaved with magic. Haven't we all got back to our favorite movies, shows, music, podcasts or books? We are seeking a break from harsh realities of today. We still want to believe in magic and maybe that's why supernatural, dreamy or science fictional stories are capturing our hearts with much more intensity now. Recently, J.K Rowling along with her team has started Har...

A Standstill amidst chaos!

Image
Hello humans, So feeling all bored and depressed in this quarantine? Well, instead of waiting to get back to life yet again why not just appreciate the time we have for ourselves? I truly feel that this standstill was much needed for human world (though not in such a negative way as it has come). Till now we were just living like a robot, following a set lifestyle, and we failed to realise that the only basic elements which make us different from robot are our abilities to think, feel and understand. The abilities which we kept at the bay, while being busy in swimming through our monotonous and tiresome lives. We forgot that it is vital for us to relax at times. We need to take breaks to get back to our work with more enthusiasm. We missed out that all the facets of time are cardinal in our lives. Just like what we do in our present shapes our future, in the same manner, what is to be done in the present is decided by reflecting upon our past. We usually focus on the forme...

HAPPY APRIL FOOLS DAY!

Image
Ever thought that April fool day can also mean something else? Here is my new meaning to this most celebrated day.  This April Fools Day instead of making a fool out of people, make yourselves FULL - full of hope, full of faith, full of happiness, full of will, full of wisdom, full of strength and determination.  Why does every day have to be about others? Why not celebrate this quarantined April fool with yourselves? Instead of playing pranks on people, prank your mind and heart into being productive rather than sitting idle. Choose people to help you grow more fuller in their presence rather than choosing people to prank on.  Use your mind to plan your days and weeks ahead than thinking of tricks to fool others.  Fools(full) day is celebrated on first day of April, which marks the spring season for the northern side of globe which signifies growth of all the elements on the planet. The southern side experiences fall/ autumn season that brings change...

YOU ARE WHAT YOU CONSUME!

Image
Do you ever wonder how rapidly online or E-content is consumed by the people these days? What does that make you think ? Does it mean that people are so free and available that they spend their time watching various movies/ series, playing games, consuming e-books, creating and posting videos and lot more? As a joke, we might agree  to it, but truly we all know that no one is all that free. This heavy intake of content only means that even after a long, tiring day, we prefer to watch / hear/ read something rather than taking rest or letting our thoughts wander boundlessly. Sometimes we avoid our thoughts just because we fail to understand them. When we come across some similar plots or story lines, we find it bingeworthy. It makes us feel better that we are not alone in this feeling. We always look for validation or assurance outside ourselves and when w...

IT IS A DAY OF GRATITUDE!!

Image
Friendship day is often taken as a day to express our gratitude towards the ones who stayed by our side through thick and thin so why not begin this day differently this time. This friendship day let's begin by thanking that one ultimate friend, who is the most under estimated and mostly criticized one. However, to know who that friend is you can do a little exercise. Follow the steps to reveal that person's identity. Just open your mobile's camera. Enable its front camera setting. and there you see that face, didn't you? Well if you smiled while reading this then, maybe you got my point.  Yes, you are that under rated friend of yourself .  While it is easy to thank someone else every time, you are really very ignorant towards yourselves. I really wonder why is t...
